Research methodology sample  is important when the students have to select a methodology for their research when writing a  thesis  or a research paper. But, students face the dilemma of where to find the good methodologies for samples. Research methodology has to be chosen very carefully after deciding on a topic and formulating a set of viable and valid research questions. Some types of research questions and research objectives require qualitative data while others require quantitative data. If the research aims at collection of primary data, the methodology must include setting up of laboratory experiments and conducting interviews etc. Different Types of Research Selecting the right type of research depends on the research problem. 我發現來英國唸書的碩士生,大多不知道這兩者的差別 今天呢~就來小小討論一下Method和Methodology 大家都知道Method,我們可以說它是approach也可以說它是tool 在研究中,我們需要方法來幫忙我們探討研究的問題 像常用到的observation, interviews, questionnaire等這些都是research method 但是要該如何進行這些reseaech methods?進行的順序又是如何?這時我們就需要methodology幫我們說明 但什麼是Methodology?我第一次見到時查了字典'方法論' 說真的看得似懂非懂,'方法論'不就是在講方法,那不就跟Method一樣? 我想很多人的想法跟我當初的看法是一樣的,就是Method=Methodology 但是事實上這兩者是不能畫上等號 很多書中解釋Method和Methodology的差別 不過我最喜歡Clough, P. and Nutbrown, C.的解釋 methods可被視為the ingredients of research,而methodology則是提供a particular research recipe的理由 (Clough, P. and Nutbrown, C., 2002, A Student’s Guide to Methodology, London, Sage.) 這樣寫大家似乎還是很不瞭解,那我舉一個簡單的例子 今天我要做'紅燒獅子頭'這道菜 我需要材料: 絞肉：600公克 ‧豆腐：半塊 ‧大白菜：300公克 ‧荸薺：5顆 ‧香菜：3顆 配料： ‧醬油：5大匙 ‧高湯：4杯 ‧糖：1大匙 ‧薑水：1茶匙 ‧胡椒粉：1/4茶匙‧紹興酒：1茶匙‧沙拉油：3杯‧太白粉：3大匙‧太白粉水：3大匙‧麻油：1大匙 我們都知道這些材料是做紅燒獅子頭的要素,但是大家都還是不知道該如何做紅燒獅子頭 因此我在更進一步說明做法 ●先用醬油５大匙、紹興酒１大匙、薑水１茶匙及糖１大匙，調成「綜合調味料」備用。 ●荸薺洗乾淨之後，去皮切碎。荸薺切碎後與豆腐一起放入絞肉裡攪拌均勻。加入鹽１茶匙、薑水１茶匙、胡椒粉1/4茶匙、紹興酒１茶匙、太白粉３大匙及麻油１大匙繼續攪...
